The Corporate Adopt-a-Day Sponsorship Program is Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruces’s team-building opportunity, that enables companies to engage their employees while also investing in the community. Whether your team members are skilled in construction, or have never picked up a hammer before, they can all take part in this program.
All sponsors donating $1,000+ have the opportunity to participate in the Corporate Adopt-a-Day Program. In taking this step, your company has recognized the importance of supporting employee volunteerism while helping to provide a long-term solution to the affordable housing need in Grey and Bruce Counties.
How Adopt-A-Day’s work:
A contact at your organization arranges a day for a group as small as 5, or as large as 20 employees to participate as a team on our build site. We will provide everything you need for the day, including tools, safety equipment and lunch.
Participants on the build site are required to wear safety equipment including safety boots, if a member of your team does not have boots let us know and we will get them a pair.
On the day of your build, your group arrives at the site at 8:00am.
Your team will receive a brief talk about the project for that day and any safety issues that may exist. We believe safety is more important than speed in completing the project.
Next, your team will be split into smaller groups and led through projects by Crew Leaders who are experienced construction volunteers.
Your team will spend the day learning and performing various construction tasks to help us build a home for a family in need.
Each volunteer will receive a Habitat volunteer t-shirt, coffee and snacks, a well-earned lunch and we will take photos throughout the day to post on our website.
The build day ends at 4:00pm
